Liz Salerno is a leading wind energy market and policy expert who has been active in the wind energy arena on strategy, policy and analysis for more than a decade. Liz entered the wind industry in 2005 with the American Wind Energy Association in Washington, DC. Liz was the Vice President of AWEA’s Data & Analysis team, developing market assessments across a wide spectrum from carbon tax to state RPS, from wind employment to PPA rates, from manufacturing supply chain to turbine technology. Her team produced premier reports and data to feed the rapid wind industry evolution, and were dedicated to delivering core facts to media, policymakers and the energy industry.
Following her tenure at AWEA, Liz joined Siemens in 2014 as the Manager of Product and Marketing Strategy for the Siemens Wind Power division, pursuing business development opportunities across the Americas region through market and pricing forecast, technology roadmaps, and policy initiatives. Liz is currently the Director of Strategy and Policy for the Siemens Power Generation Service division, focusing on the global service portfolio including wind and gas.
Liz has proudly served on the Board for Women of Wind Energy since 2011, supporting their mission to provide education and professional development to women looking to advance their career in wind. She continues her dedication to facts and figures as co-chair of AWEA’s Statistics and Analysis committee. Liz was the recipient of the Forbes 30 under 30 award in Energy in the inaugural year in 2011 and ReCharge magazine’s 40 under 40 award in 2014. She currently resides in Oviedo, FL.
