Wind Energy Foundation History

The Foundation was formed by senior executives in the wind energy industry in 2010 to provide an independent source of research and education for the advancement of wind energy. The main focus is educating the public and policy makers about the many advantages of wind energy, including the potential for wind energy to create a new, high-tech, sustainable industry that enhances national security, creates jobs, and reduces the environmental impact of energy use. In 2011, the Foundation received its IRS 501(c) (3) charitable organization status. Now the Foundation continues to conduct and fund research and educational programs that support wind energy growth.

The Foundation launched its website in 2012 to provide a reliable source of information about wind energy costs, wind turbine technology, wind energy facts, and wind energy for your home or business. Information about the advantages of wind energy and links to wind energy companies can be found throughout the site.
